S. S. Engineering Works

Our workshop is over at Plot No. 783 in the HSIDC area of Rai. It’s not hard to find if you know the industrial zone around here. S. S. Engineering Works has been operating out of this spot, and we’ve seen the area change quite a bit over the years. We mostly just focus on the day-to-day tasks that a machine shop handles. There isn't much to say about the building itself; it's a practical space designed for work, not for looks. We have some heavy machines and enough bench space to get things sorted. A lot of our day is spent listening to the hum of the motors and the smell of cutting oil. It’s a dirty job sometimes, but someone has to do it. We don't have a big corporate team. It’s just us, the workers, and the owners all mixed together on the floor. When a client brings in a drawing or an old part that needs replacing, we sit down and look at it together. We don’t use a lot of big words or complicated software unless we really have to. Most things can be figured out with a tape measure and some experience. We try to keep our costs down so we can charge a fair price. It’s a quiet life in some ways, even with all the noise from the tools. We just keep our heads down and finish the work on time.
