K V Spices India Pvt. Ltd. is located at Plot No. 46 in Kundli, right near the Haryana border. If you know the area, you know it’s mostly industrial and full of big trucks. There is always a lot of dust in the air from the main road. Our warehouse is a plain grey building. We don’t have a big reception area or anyone to greet you at the door. You usually have to find one of us in the back among the sacks of spices. The smell of cumin and chili is very strong here. It gets into everything. Our desks are tucked into a small corner of the warehouse where we keep the records. We don't use any fancy software, just some old ledgers and a basic computer. The border traffic makes it hard to get in and out sometimes, especially in the evenings when the police start their checks. We have a small crew of workers who have been with us for years. We aren’t looking to be the biggest company out there. We just want to get the spices packed and shipped without too much trouble. The roof is made of tin, so when it rains, it gets very loud inside. We just shout to be heard over the noise. It’s a practical place for a practical business. We don’t have any marketing people or anyone to make us look polished. We just work hard and stay busy until the day is over.
