GAURAV SPRING PRODUCTS

Out here at Plot No 104 in Ramnagar, specifically the 8-Marla section, life moves at its own pace. GAURAV SPRING PRODUCTS is tucked away right opposite the Mehfil Banquet hall. On weekends, we can often hear the music and the celebrations from the weddings over there while we are inside working with the steel wire. It is a strange mix, the sound of party music and the heavy thud of spring-making machines. The plot isn't huge, but it fits everything we need. The floor is concrete and stays cool even when the sun is beating down on the roof. We spend most of our hours bending and heat-treating coils. My hands are usually stained dark by the end of the shift, and no amount of soap really gets it all off. We don't really have a front office, just a wooden table where the ledger stays. If a customer comes by, we usually just talk right there on the shop floor. Ramnagar is a hardworking neighborhood and we fit right in. There is always some dust blowing in from the road, and we spend a fair bit of time just sweeping it out. We don't worry about being the biggest shop around. We just focus on the orders we have and make sure the machines are running smooth. It is basic work, but there is a rhythm to it that keeps us going through the week.
