Atc Spices

We are out at the 20th Mile on NH-1, right in the Rai Industrial Area. Atc Spices has been operating from this spot for quite some time now. Being in an industrial area means it is mostly warehouses and big trucks moving around us all day long. It is a loud place, especially with the highway so close, but it is perfect for what we do. We handle spices all day, so the air inside the building always smells like cumin or turmeric or whatever we are packing that morning. It gets into your clothes after a while, so you take the smell home with you. The facility is practical and built for work. We have space for the raw materials and the grinders we use. It is a lot of manual work, moving heavy bags around and making sure the machines are kept clean. We don't have a fancy office with carpets or nice furniture. It is mostly concrete floors and heavy-duty metal shelving. Rai Industrial Area is a bit of a drive for some people, but for us, it is just where the work happens. We see the same truck drivers every week. They pull in, we load up their trailers, and they head back out onto the NH-1. It is a steady rhythm. We don't do much talking about ourselves; we just focus on the spices. The sun hits the front of the building pretty hard in the afternoon, so we usually keep the shutters halfway down to stay cool.
