Anand Computer Education

My name is Anand and I started this computer education center in Dhanana Aladadpur a few years back. We are located right in the village, so it is easy for the local kids to walk over after they finish their school day. Mostly, we have a few rows of wooden desks and some older computers that we keep running as best as we can with limited parts. People come here to learn the basics like typing, using the internet for the first time, or how to handle spreadsheets for small office jobs. It gets a bit crowded in the late afternoons when the students arrive all at once. The ceiling fans hum all day long trying to keep the room cool. We don't have a big staff, just me and a couple of local guys who know their way around a PC. Sometimes the power goes out, which is pretty common here in the Gohana area, so we just sit outside, wait it out, and then pick up where we left off once the lights come back on. It is not a big fancy academy with shiny signs or air conditioning. We just want the people in the village to have a place where they can pick up some digital skills without having to travel all the way to the city. I spend most of my time fixing software bugs or showing someone how to print a simple document. It is a very basic setup, but it serves the community well enough. We keep the monthly fees low so that everyone here can afford to come and learn something new.
