Out here in Irle, things move a bit slower than the big cities. We are based in Barshi, which is part of Solapur. Neerja Spices Private Limited is actually run from the place of Bibhishan Nana Kamble. It’s a real local setup. Being in a taluka like Barshi means we are close to the ground, literally. We deal with spices and that means there is always a strong smell in the air, which we don’t even notice anymore, though visitors usually do. The address is just At Post-Irle, and everyone around here knows where that is. We aren't some big corporate entity with a glass building. We work out of a simple place where the focus is just on getting the spices sorted and packed. Solapur gets really hot in the summer, and that affects how we work sometimes. We started this because it felt like the right thing to do in this area. There’s a lot of manual work involved and we don’t have fancy machines for everything. It’s a lot of local talk and making sure the bags are ready for transport. Life in a village area like this is different; you know your neighbors and you know the people you do business with. It is just honest work, really. We keep the paperwork in order and try to make sure everything goes out on time. It gets dusty and quiet out here, but we like the pace of things.
