Arushi General Stores

Arushi General Stores is our shop on Vijapur Road in Solapur. We are located at Shop No 07 in the Dr Kontis Nagar area. It’s a neighborhood store, so we sell the kinds of things people need for their houses every day. We have groceries, soaps, snacks, and some basic household items. We open the shutters early because there’s always someone who needs something before they start their day. The street can get pretty noisy with all the traffic on Vijapur Road, but inside we just focus on the customers. It’s a small shop and we have things stacked up high on the shelves to make room for everything. We know most of the people who live around here. They come in for a kilo of sugar or some tea and we usually end up talking for a bit. It’s not a supermarket; it’s just a local general store. We do the cleaning and the stocking ourselves. Sometimes a shipment comes in and we have boxes all over the floor for a few hours. We don’t have a fancy system, just a cash drawer and a notebook. It’s a lot of standing around and waiting for customers, but we stay busy. We don’t try to sell people things they don’t need. We just provide the basics. It’s a simple life running a shop in Solapur, and we have been doing it this way for quite a long time now.
