Syed Ershad

Syed Ershad is a name that people in Manamadurai might recognize. This is a quiet town in the Sivagangai district of Tamilnadu. My place is in Burma Colony, house number 326. It is a very straightforward setup. I don’t have a big corporate office or anything like that. It is just a small building in a residential street where I handle my affairs. The weather here can get very hot, especially in the afternoons, so we usually keep the windows shut to keep the dust and heat out. Burma Colony is a friendly place. Most people know me as just another local trying to make a living. The address is 630606 for the post. I spend most of my time here coordinating things and making calls. There is a small porch out front where I sit sometimes in the evenings when it cools down. The inside is pretty basic with just the essential furniture. I’ve never seen the point in spending money on expensive rugs or paintings. As long as there is a light and a fan that works, I am happy. The town itself is small enough that you can get anywhere in a few minutes. Life moves at a slower pace here than in the big cities like Chennai or Madurai. We don't rush things too much. It is a practical way to live and work without all the stress of a big city environment. It keeps things simple.
