About Biocare Coco Subtrates – Agriculture & Farming in Sivaganga
Our business, Biocare Coco Subtrates, is at No. 15/1 in the 164 Industrial Estate. We work with coconut husks all day long. We process these husks to make substrates for plants and farming. If you visit us, you will see big piles of brown fiber everywhere in the yard. It is a very dusty environment, and we usually end up with coco peat in our hair and on our clothes. The industrial estate is a noisy place with many other factories nearby, so there is always a lot of humming and thumping going on. We have a few machines that crush and screen the material to get it to the right size. Sometimes the machines get jammed, and we have to stop everything to clear them out. It is a lot of manual labor, moving heavy bags and loading them onto trucks. We do not have a fancy office; we mostly just have a small desk near the entrance where we keep our logs. When it rains, the yard gets a bit messy, which makes moving the material a lot slower. We just take our time and make sure the work gets done properly. Our staff is made up of local people who are used to the heat and the dust. We usually take a break in the shade when the sun is at its peak. It is a simple, honest business, and we just keep the production moving as best as we can.
