Prakhar Public School

Out here in Chandrawal, near the Barmi Chauraha, things are usually pretty slow and steady. Prakhar Public School is right in the middle of it. We are located in Mishrikh, which is part of the Sitapur district. It's a rural area, so many of our students come from the surrounding farms and small villages. The school building is simple, just some brick walls and roofs to keep the rain out while the kids are learning. We don't have a lot of the high-tech stuff you see in big cities, but we have desks, chairs, and blackboards. That’s really what you need to teach someone something. Every morning, the children arrive, some walking quite a distance. We start the day and try to get through as much of the lessons as possible before it gets too hot in the afternoon. The staff here lives nearby, so we all know the struggle of living in this part of Sitapur. We try to help the kids understand their subjects so they can maybe have more choices later in life. Sometimes the power goes out, or the road gets muddy after a big rain, but the school stays open. It’s a community effort to keep things running. We don't make a big fuss about things. We just provide a place for the village children to get an education without having to travel all the way to the main city. It's not a fancy life out here, but it's our home.
