Dhianand Masala (Opc) Private Limited

My name is connected to Dhianand Masala (Opc) Private Limited, and we work out of Ward No.-05 in the village of Kohbarwa. It’s near Sonbarsa in the Sitamarhi district. This started because we wanted to do something of our own here in Bihar. We work with spices, hence the name Masala. It’s a small operation, really. Just me and a couple of people from the village helping out. We spend our days sorting, grinding, and packing. The smell of turmeric and chili is always in the air around our place. It makes you sneeze sometimes, but you get used to it. The address is basically where we live too. We don't have a fancy factory. It’s more of a dedicated workspace. Sitamarhi is a good place to be, even if it’s a bit far from the big cities. We sell to local shops mostly. We don't have a sales team or a marketing budget. If someone likes the masala, they tell their neighbor, and that’s how we grow. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from sunrise to sunset. Sometimes the machinery acts up and we have to fix it ourselves with whatever tools we have. We don't use those shiny foil packets you see in supermarkets. Our stuff is simple and packed by hand. We start our work when the birds start chirping. My husband Dhiraj helps out when he can. We spread the whole spices out on big mats to dry in the sun before we grind them.
