Soil To Spoon Organic Farming is located out on Bhojpur Road, near Post Khilchipur, right off National Highway-12 in the district. Being near the highway makes it easy for transport, though the road noise is always there. We spend most of our days out in the dirt. It's not the kind of job where you wear a suit. We are busy with the planting and watching the weather. It’s a lot of waiting on rain or hoping the sun isn't too harsh. We started this because we wanted to grow things differently. It's hard work and your hands are never really clean. We don’t use any of those heavy chemicals, so we spend more time pulling weeds by hand. It can be frustrating when the bugs get to the crops before we do. Every season is a bit of a gamble. Some years the harvest is great, and other years we just get by. We have a small shed where we keep the tools and the seeds. It’s a bit cluttered in there, but we know where everything is. People stop by on their way down the highway sometimes. We don't have a big sign or anything. Usually, it's just us out there in the fields. We try to keep the soil healthy so the plants grow right. It’s a slow process, and you can’t really rush nature. We just take it one day at a time and see what comes up.
