Kanti Lal Kanyalal Ji

Sheoganj is a place where everyone knows everyone else. Our spot is in the Gol Building, which everyone in town knows. The building has that old style to it. Kanti Lal Kanyalal Ji is the name on the door, and we’ve been here through many seasons. It’s a bit of a maze getting inside sometimes because of how the building is shaped. We spend our days sitting and waiting for the next thing to happen. Some days are slow, and we just watch the people walking through the market area. Other days, we don't even have time to eat lunch until late. We keep our ledgers and our stock in order. It’s a lot of manual work, moving things around and making sure everything is where it should be. The ceiling is high, which helps when it's summer. We don't have fancy air conditioning, just the big windows and the fans. The floor is old stone and stays cool. We get a lot of regulars who have been coming to this same spot for years. They remember when the building looked different. We don't change much. We just show up, open the shutters, and see what the day brings. It’s a long day usually, from morning until the sun goes down over Sheoganj. We don't bother with much else besides the work at hand. It's just how we do things here, keeping it steady.
