Simpleleaf Organics India Limited

Our spot is at Geeta Ram Sharma’s house in Village Kanlog. It’s in the Shampur-Chhandog area, specifically number 239, near the Gagal Shikore post office. Simpleleaf Organics India Limited is what we call ourselves, but to the neighbors, we are just the folks working on the organic stuff. Sirmaur is where we have our roots. The 173001 area is home for us. We started this because we liked the idea of simple living and growing things the right way. It is a bit out of the way, but that is how we like it. We don’t have a big staff or a HR department. It’s usually just a few of us sitting around a wooden table talking about what needs to get done for the week. Sometimes the power goes out or the water is slow, but you get used to that in the village. We handle everything ourselves, from the paperwork to the actual heavy lifting. It’s not a polished business with a shiny lobby. It is just a house in the hills where we try to do something useful. People around Kanlog are friendly and they see us out there working most mornings. We don't really have a big story to tell, we just keep our heads down and work on the plants. It gets cold in the winter, but the air is clean and that makes a difference for the crops.
