S. D Bricks

If you look for S. D Bricks, you will find us right opposite the Modella School on Church Road. It is a lively place to be because of all the school kids running around in the mornings and the afternoons. Their shouting and the sound of the school bells are basically our background noise all day long. Church Road stays pretty busy with cars and bikes, so getting the big trucks in and out of our yard takes some careful timing and a bit of patience. We have stacks of bricks piled high right across from the school gates. Most of the time we are just out there in the dirt, checking the quality of the batches and making sure nothing is cracked. It gets very dusty when the wind picks up, so we usually have a cloth over our faces to keep the grime out. We have a small bench where we sit during breaks to watch the traffic or grab a quick bite. It is not the kind of job where you stay clean, and by the time we close up, we are usually covered in red dust from head to toe. We have been at this location for a good bit and have seen the school grow over the years. We just focus on our daily piles and getting the deliveries out to the local builders who need them.
