Amar Bricks

Amar Bricks is located right at Champasari More. If you’re in the Darjeeling district, you’ve probably passed by this intersection. It’s a busy spot. There is always noise from the traffic and people moving around. We don’t have a quiet office. It’s mostly just the yard and a small place to sit. The weather can be tricky here. When the rains come, everything gets muddy. We spend a lot of time cleaning up. We aren't a huge company with fancy offices in the city. We are just here at the More. Most of the guys working here are from the local villages. We have tea together in the mornings before the work starts. The mist comes down from the hills sometimes. It makes everything feel a bit damp. We don't do much on the internet. We prefer people just showing up at the gate. It’s easier to talk face to face. Amar Bricks has been at this location for a long time. We’ve seen the shops around us change owners, but we stay the same. It’s a simple life. We load the bricks, we count them, and we send them off. No fancy speeches or big promises. Just hard work in Darjeeling. Sometimes we close early if the weather gets too bad. You just have to deal with the mountain air and the busy road. It keeps life interesting. We just get on with it every single day.
