Our shop is located on Devipura Road in Ringas. We handle a lot of heavy stuff here, mostly steel rods and different types of glass sheets. It is a tricky mix because the steel is so rough and the glass is so fragile. You have to be careful how you move things around so nothing breaks or scratches. The building is basically a large warehouse with a small desk in the front. We spend most of the day loading and unloading trucks that come in from the main road. It can be quite a workout, especially when the sun is beating down on the yard. We have to wear thick gloves because the edges of the metal can be sharp. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic with piles of offcuts in the corners, but we try to keep a path clear. People from around the area come by looking for bits of steel for their own projects or a piece of glass for a window. We just cut things to size and help them load it up. It isn't a quiet place; there is always the sound of metal clanging or the glass cutter scratching across a surface. We don't have any fancy displays. It is just raw material stacked against the walls. Usually, we are covered in a bit of dust by the end of the shift. We close up when it gets dark and head home, then do it all again the next morning.
