National Brick

Down in Amguri, things are pretty quiet except for when the kiln is firing. We've been operating out of this spot in Sibsagar for quite some time. Making bricks is hard work, especially when the sun is out and the clay is heavy. We have a lot of workers who have been with us for years. They know the rhythm of the place. You can find us by looking for the stacks of red bricks near the village. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything. It's just the ground, the clay, and the fire. Most days we are just worried about the rain or if the wood for the fire is dry enough. People from all over the Tehsil come here to pick up loads for their houses. We see a lot of tractors and old trucks coming through. We don't do much marketing because everyone around here knows where we are. It’s a bit of a dusty life, but it’s what we know. We aren't trying to be the biggest, just trying to keep the quality steady so the bricks don't crack. Sometimes we run out of stock during the busy season, and we just have to tell people to wait. It’s a simple business, really. No big corporate meetings here, just a lot of manual labor and keeping an eye on the oven. We appreciate the people who have stayed with us through the years.
