Sri Vinayaka Stores & Floor Mill

If you walk down Bharathi Street in Sringeri, you’ll hear us before you see us. We are located at 84-9-71, right on the Main Road. Running a floor mill like Sri Vinayaka Stores & Floor Mill is a noisy, dusty business, but it’s what we do. We’ve been here for a long time, and the building has definitely seen its share of work. The machines hum all day long, and there’s always a bit of flour in the air, which we’ve just gotten used to over the years. We aren't the type to have a fancy website or a lot of promotional talk. People know where we are because they can smell the grain being ground or they see the bags lined up on the sidewalk. It’s a very practical kind of work. We handle the store part of it too, selling the basics to whoever comes in off the Main Road. Sringeri is a busy place, especially with people coming through for the temple, but Bharathi Street stays pretty local. We don’t have many employees, just a few of us who know how to handle the machinery and keep the customers satisfied. It’s hard work, and your back usually hurts by the end of the day, but it’s an honest living. We just keep the mill running and the store open, day after day, without making any fuss. It is a bit loud and messy, but it is home.
