Shankara Enterprises

You can find Shankara Enterprises on the first floor of the Praveen Mens Wear building. It’s right across from the BPG office on Jewel Rock Hotel Road in Durgipuri. You have to walk up a narrow set of stairs to get to us. The building is a bit older, so the steps are a little uneven, but it’s a good spot for us. Being above a clothing shop means we always smell the laundry and new fabric. The office is small and the windows look out over the street, so we can see all the people going about their business. It’s a bit of a landmark area because of the hotel nearby. We spend our time on the computer or on the phone, mostly. It gets a bit hot in the afternoon because the sun hits our side of the building directly. We have a couple of old fans that move the air around, but it doesn't do much. There’s always a bit of a mess on the desks with pens and notebooks scattered everywhere. We aren’t trying to impress anyone with a big corporate look. It’s just a functional space where we handle our business. Sometimes we grab a tea from the stall downstairs and chat with the other shop owners. It’s a friendly enough neighborhood and we’ve settled in quite well over the years. We just keep things running as best we can.
