Our little marketing office is located at 12-36-265 on R M R Road. The area is called Durgi Gudi, and it’s a fairly central spot. Being on R M R Road means we hear the buses and rickshaws going by all day long. It’s a small, rectangular space with three desks squeezed in. One of the desks has a leg that’s a bit shorter than the others, so we’ve propped it up with a piece of cardboard. It’s been like that for months and nobody really minds. We spend most of our time staring at screens or talking to vendors on the mobile. There isn't a lot of room for storage, so we have boxes of samples and flyers stacked up in the corner. When we get a big shipment in, we have to move the chairs around just to find a place to stand. It’s a bit of a mess sometimes, but we manage to stay on top of the work. The light coming through the front window is really bright in the mornings, so we have to use a piece of old cloth as a curtain. It's a simple way of doing things, but it works for us. Most of the people working here are from the local area, so we often talk about the local news or where to get the best snacks nearby. It’s a basic office, but it feels like home after you’ve been here long enough.
