Shri Chintpurni Rice Mills

We've been here at Shri Chintpurni Rice Mills for a while now. It's located right in Bhalwan, Dhura. Most days start pretty early because the trucks come in when the sun is barely up. You get used to the sound of the husking machines after a few years. It becomes like background noise really. We deal with a lot of local paddy. Some days the dust is everywhere but that is just part of the job here. The yard gets crowded during the harvest months. We try to keep things moving so the farmers aren't waiting too long. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit around for a bit until it comes back. It gives us a chance to have some tea. The shed is quite big and it stays relatively cool inside even when it’s hot outside. We have a few guys who have been with us since the start. They know exactly how the machines should sound. If something sounds off, they hear it immediately. We just work on getting the rice cleaned and packed. There isn't much more to it. The road out front can get a bit muddy when it rains. We spend a lot of time sweeping the floors too. It's a lot of manual work but it keeps everyone busy. We don't have fancy offices or anything like that. Just the mill and the grain. Most people around here know where we are. We're just a small part of the community in Dhura.
