We are located out in Village Bihar Khalol, near Khalini. Jai Manuni Construction Private Limited is based right here. It’s a quiet spot in Shimla, quite different from the main town center. Madhan Mohan manages the place from here. We do building work, mostly local projects around the village and the surrounding hills. The air is clear up here, but the work is tough because everything is on a slope. You won't find any big fancy signs at our office. It’s just a regular building where we plan our next jobs. Sometimes we have to haul cement and bricks up paths that trucks can’t even fit on. It’s part of the life here in Himachal Pradesh. We’ve got a small team, mostly people from around the neighborhood. We know the soil and the way the water runs off the hills during the monsoon, which is pretty important if you don't want your walls cracking. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there, just trying to do solid work for the people who live around here. Most days start early before the sun gets too high. We spend a lot of time talking to neighbors and figuring out what needs doing next. It’s simple, honest labor. We don't have a lot of corporate rules, just common sense and hard work. If you are ever up in Khalini, you might see our trucks moving through the narrow streets. We just get on with things and try to stay busy.
