Himachal Red Rice

You can find us at Himachal Red Rice, right on the top floor of Bragta Niwas in Shimla. We’re quite close to the High Court, which is a landmark most people know. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, but the view of the hills is nice from the office. We spend our time dealing with the red rice that this region is known for. It’s a specific kind of work, and we’ve been doing it for some time now. The office isn't very big. It's mostly just desks and samples of the grain everywhere. Sometimes it feels a bit cramped when we get a lot of visitors or deliveries. Shimla weather can be tricky, so some days are slower when the fog rolls in. We mostly talk to farmers and people interested in the local rice varieties. It’s not like those big corporate offices you see in the city. We wear regular clothes and drink a lot of tea while we work. My brother handles the phone calls while I check on the stock. It’s a simple setup. We like being in this part of town, even if parking is a bit of a pain near the court. It’s just a small local operation trying to keep the tradition of red rice going. We aren't doing anything fancy, just moving bags and talking to people about the harvest. It's what we know how to do in this little office of ours. Most days are okay, and we just keep the business going as it is.
