We spend most of our time out here near National Highway 14. If you know the road through Sirohi and Pindwara, you’ve probably driven past us a hundred times heading toward Abu Road or Palanpur. It gets pretty dusty and the sun is no joke in this part of the world, but that’s just how it is. We deal with cement bags every single day. The trucks are constantly pulling in and out, kicking up gravel and making a lot of noise. Sometimes the traffic on the highway is a total mess, especially during the peak hours, but we just keep moving the stock. It’s not a fancy place by any means. There’s a small desk where we do the paperwork and a lot of space for the inventory. Most of us have been working around the Abu Road area for years now, so we know the local drivers and the guys who come in to pick up supplies for their house projects. We drink a lot of tea to stay going. You’ll usually see a few of us standing near the gate checking the manifests or just waiting for the next delivery to show up. It’s repetitive work, loading and unloading, but it’s what we do. We don't have a big corporate office here, just the site and the people who make sure the bags get where they need to go. It’s practical, honest work that keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down over the hills.
