Krishan Kunj Jr High School

The school is tucked away in Krishna Nagar, right off the Karnal Road in Shamli. It's a busy part of the Muzaffarnagar area, so there’s always noise coming from the main road, but we’re used to it by now. We’ve been here for quite some time, focusing on teaching the kids from the nearby colonies. It isn't a massive campus with shiny glass walls or anything like that. It’s just a solid brick building where junior high students come to learn their lessons. Most of the staff live nearby, so we all know the local shortcuts and the shops around the corner. Every morning starts with the kids lining up, and if the sun is too hot, we try to move things along quickly so they can get inside to the fans. The classrooms are simple, with wooden desks that have seen a lot of use over the years. We spend our days going through textbooks and checking notebooks. Sometimes the dust from the road gets into everything, so cleaning is a never-ending job for us. When the bell rings at the end of the day, the street gets crowded with bicycles and parents waiting. It’s a lot of routine, but that’s how a school runs. We deal with the usual stuff like broken chalk, rainy days that flood the entrance, and making sure the water cooler is filled up. It’s just our way of life here in Shamli.
