Sunrise School

If you are looking for us, we are over in Dungariya Ward in Chhapara. That’s in the Seoni district. The school is a simple building that sits right in the middle of the community. We see the same faces every morning when the kids walk to the gate. It’s a quiet part of town for the most part, except for when school lets out. Then it gets pretty loud for about half an hour. We don’t have a fancy website or a big office. Most of our work happens right in the classrooms or at a small desk in the hallway. The walls are painted a bright color, though it’s starting to fade near the bottom. We have a small yard where the kids gather. It’s not a huge space, but it’s enough for them to run around a bit. We spend our days dealing with the usual things, like lost notebooks and fixing the fence. It’s a local school for local people. We don't try to be anything else. Sometimes the road outside gets a bit muddy when it rains, making it a bit tricky to get inside without making a mess. We just have a pile of old sacks at the door for people to wipe their feet. It’s a practical, no-nonsense place. We’re just here doing our bit every day. The local shops nearby know us well because we're always buying supplies.
