Yr Design Printer is easy to spot if you’re looking for the Kanyaka Parameswari Temple which is right nearby. The shop is usually full of the smell of fresh ink and the sound of the printers whirring away throughout the afternoon. We have stacks of paper everywhere, some for posters and some for small business cards. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside with all the machines and the long table where we do the cutting and folding. We spend a lot of time sitting at the computer trying to get the colors to look just right on the screen before we hit print. Sometimes the machines jam and we have to spend an hour getting our hands dirty with grease and ink to fix it. It’s not a glamorous job, but we like seeing the finished products stacked up and ready for pickup. People come in with all sorts of requests, from wedding invites to shop banners. We try to listen to what they want and do our best with what we have. R.P Road is always busy with traffic, so there’s a lot of noise from the street coming through the front door. We keep it open so people can just walk in and ask about things. It’s just a local print shop where we work hard and hope for no paper jams today or tomorrow.
