You can find us on the first floor over on Mahankali Street in Ranigunj. It’s a very busy part of town, and the stairs up to our place are a bit narrow. We mostly sell hardware and different types of tools that local mechanics and builders need. Ranigunj is famous for this kind of trade, so we are right in the thick of it at 4-4 36. My family has been doing this for a long time. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know to come to us when they can't find a specific bolt or a certain type of drill bit elsewhere. The shop is packed from floor to ceiling with boxes. Sometimes it takes us a few minutes to find exactly what a customer is looking for because there is just so much stuff. We talk to all sorts of people every day, from big contractors to guys just trying to fix a leaky pipe at home. The street noise downstairs is constant, but you stop noticing it after a few hours. We aren't a big department store. We are just a small shop where you can get a cup of tea and find the right tool for your job. We try to keep our prices steady, even when things are getting harder to source. It’s a lot of standing and climbing ladders, but we like being part of the Ranigunj market. If it's a hot day, we just turn on the old ceiling fan and keep going until closing time.
