Designer Weaves

We are tucked away in Gandhinagar, near Devi Chowk, at Ho. 1/4/88 By 20/6. It might be a little hard to find if you aren't familiar with the lane numbers around here, but once you get close to the chowk, most people can point you our way. Designer Weaves is really just a place where we focus on the materials and the patterns. The building itself is quite old and has that lived-in feel which we actually like. There are piles of fabric everywhere and the smell of fresh cloth is always in the air. We don't have a big fancy reception area or anything like that. Instead, you'll usually find us sitting amidst the rolls of cloth or working on a design at the big table in the back. It gets quite busy during the festival times when everyone wants something new. We try to keep things organized but sometimes the threads and samples end up all over the place. It’s a bit messy, but that’s how we work best. Being near Devi Chowk means we get to hear the temple bells and see the local crowds every day. It’s a nice part of town to be in, even if the parking is a bit of a nightmare sometimes. We just focus on the weaving and the details of the work, trying to make sure every piece looks right before it leaves the shop.
