D'Art Studio

D'Art Studio is up on the third floor of Vineyard Mist, at Plot No 456, Flat 201. It is a bit of a hike up the stairs if the elevator is acting up, which happens sometimes. Inside, the space is usually covered in whatever project is currently happening. We have sketches pinned to the walls and brushes sitting in jars of murky water. It’s not the most organized place, but we know where everything is kept. The light coming through the windows in the afternoon is actually pretty good for working. We spend most of our hours here just trying to get the lines and colors right. Sometimes the neighbors in the building pop in to see what we are making. It’s a small operation, mostly just us sitting at the tables with some music playing in the background. We don’t have a receptionist or a waiting room. If you come by, you’ll probably just see us in the middle of a mess. We started here because the rent was okay and it felt like a quiet enough spot to focus. There are boxes of supplies stacked in the corners and the smell of paint is pretty much always there. It’s a practical workspace above everything else. We don’t do much to make it look like a fancy gallery. It’s just where the work happens every day, from morning until the sun goes down over the city.
