B.Bichareddy Sweets

Our shop is over in Chandanagar, right next to the Kumar Shirts store. It is a small place at H.No. 2-6/2/A but it stays pretty busy most of the time. B.Bichareddy Sweets is where we spend all our hours. We have to wake up very early to start the kitchen work because that’s really the only way to get things ready for the morning rush. It smells like sugar and ghee around here most of the day. We aren't trying to be some big fancy chain with a million different branches, just this one spot where local people can get what they need for a festival or just for their daily tea. Sometimes the shop gets crowded and we have to ask people to wait a bit on the sidewalk, but that's just how it goes. We don't use flashy packaging or big ads. People find us because they live nearby or they've heard about us from their friends and neighbors. It’s hard work standing on your feet all day by the hot stoves, but it’s what we do. My family has been involved in this for a long time. We just want to keep making sweets the way we know how. It's a simple shop in a busy neighborhood. If you are walking past the shirt shop, you will definitely see us. We’re just local people trying to make a living and keeping the traditions alive in our own small way.
