The Bell Hotel

We are situated right by the Old Forest Campus in the Ranthambhore area. It is a very specific part of Sawai Madhopur where things feel much closer to the wild nature. The hotel has been sitting here for a good while, and we see all kinds of people coming through to try and see the tigers or just to experience the dry Rajasthan air. It gets incredibly hot here, especially during the months of May and June, so we spend a lot of our time making sure the rooms stay as cool as possible for the guests. The building itself has its own older character, not at all like those new glass and steel buildings you see in the big cities. We have a lot of large trees growing around the campus which really helps with the shade during the afternoon. In the early mornings, you can hear all the birds, and sometimes it is so quiet you almost forget the main town is not that far away. We handle the cleaning, the cooking, and the check-ins ourselves with a small crew. It is a lot of running around, especially when a big tourist group arrives all at once. We keep the lobby area simple with some old wooden chairs and a big desk that has seen better days. Our staff mostly lives nearby, so we all know the Ranthambhore area very well. If you ask about the park, we can tell you which gate is usually better or what time the jeeps leave the campus.
