Our place, S K Foods, is tucked away in Village Umbraj. It’s in the Karad Taluka part of Satara district. Being in a village means things move a little slower than in the big cities, and we like it that way. We are right at the post office area. Most of the people working here are from the nearby houses. We focus on food products that people actually need. It’s not a high-tech facility, just a solid building where we process what we need to. My family has been in this area for generations. We know the farmers around here pretty well. We get our supplies locally whenever we can. It’s a lot of manual labor, cleaning and sorting things by hand. Sometimes the power goes out in the village, so we have to wait a bit to get the machines going again. It’s just how it is. We don't have a website with flashy pictures. People just know where we are and what we do. If you walk through Umbraj, you can't miss us. We try to keep our prices fair for the neighbors. It's a small operation, but it keeps us busy from dawn till dusk. We don't have big meetings or anything; we just talk while we work. It’s a decent life here in Satara. We just want to keep providing for the community and staying busy with our daily routines until the sun goes down.
