Out here at W-85 in the Addl. M.I.D.C. area, the air is full of the smell of metal and grease. That’s just part of being in the transmission business. We spend our days around gears and heavy parts that take some real muscle to move. It’s a loud place most of the time because the machines are always running to keep up with the work. We aren't much for sitting around in suits. Most of us are in work clothes that have seen better days. We focus on getting the dimensions right and making sure the parts fit together like they should. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the shelves and workbenches, but we have our own way of organizing things. Lunch breaks are usually spent sitting together and talking about normal stuff like cricket or the family. We’ve been at this location for a while and we’ve seen the industrial area grow up around us. It used to be much quieter, but now it’s a non-stop hub of activity. We don't put out a lot of advertisements because our work usually speaks for itself when someone uses one of our transmissions. It’s just plain, hard work. We keep our heads down and try to make sure everything that leaves the shop is solid. That’s really all there is to it. No big secrets or fancy words, just gears and oil and getting things shipped out.
