Impulse Computer

If you go down Station Rd, you’ll find us right across from the Cottage Hospital. It’s a busy part of town with people always rushing to catch a train or visiting the hospital. Impulse Computer has been sitting in this spot for years now. We have a small storefront that’s usually pretty crowded with boxes and old computers waiting for repair. The bells from the railway crossing are part of our daily background noise. We handle everything from broken keyboards to systems that won't turn on at all. Some days it feels like everyone in the neighborhood has a broken laptop at the same time. We don't have a lot of staff, just a few of us who know our way around a motherboard. The shop gets a bit dusty because of the road construction nearby, but we try to keep the benches clean. We keep a logbook of every machine that comes in, though sometimes my handwriting is hard to read. It's a straightforward business. People drop off their gear, and we tell them what we can do. We’ve seen the hospital expand and the station get busier while we’ve been here. There is a certain rhythm to working on Station Rd that you don't get elsewhere. We usually stay open a bit late if someone is coming from the train. It's just how things are done here.
