Our place is actually located at Pralhad Baburao Kale’s house in Wawarhire, which is out in the Tal - Man area of Satara. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here, but it is a quiet part of the country. We do most of our construction planning right here in the village. Being in a rural spot like this means we have to be very careful about planning our supplies because it’s not like we can just run to a big store if we forget something. Most of the people working here are local, and we’ve known each other’s families for a long time. The weather in Satara can be quite dry and dusty, so we spend a lot of time cleaning off the equipment and the desks. We don’t have a big glass office or anything like that, just a simple room where we keep our tools and records. A lot of the work involves visiting sites across the district, so we spend plenty of time on the road. It’s a basic operation, focused on getting the walls up and the roofs on. We talk to the clients over tea, often right there on the site or sitting on the porch. It’s a very different way of doing business compared to the big cities, but it works for us. We just focus on the task at hand and try to keep things moving forward every day.
