Om Sai Foods

Om Sai Foods is situated at Survey No. 655/2, right along the Puna Bangalore Highway in Taluka Walwa. Being so close to the highway is actually quite helpful for us. We have trucks coming in and out all day long. It is a practical setup. We don't have a showroom or anything like that. It is just a production facility where we handle various food items. Inside, it is usually quite clean because of the nature of the work, but it is also very busy. We have a small team of local people who know the work well. Most of us live in the nearby villages and commute here every morning. The smell of the food processing is always in the air. Sometimes it's quite strong depending on what we are making that day. We have a small office near the entrance where we keep the registers and the computer. It’s usually cluttered with samples and delivery notes. We don’t really have a marketing person. Most of our orders come from long-term contacts we have made over the years. We spend a lot of time checking the machines to make sure they are running right. If something breaks, we usually fix it ourselves. It’s a very hands-on environment. We try to keep the mood light, even when we have a lot of work to finish before the sun goes down and the highway traffic gets even louder.
