This is my work as a safety officer based out of Chandpali village. It’s a quiet place in the Siwan district of Bihar, quite far from the big city lights. My office is basically my home and the sites I visit. I spend a lot of my time traveling between the village and the post office at K.P. Misrauli to get mail or send out reports. People around here know me as the person who checks on things and makes sure everything is staying safe on the job. It’s not a fancy job with a tie and a desk. Most of the time I’m wearing boots and walking through dust or mud. I grew up around here, so I know the locals and the way things work in rural Bihar. It can be tough when the weather gets bad or the roads are blocked, but the work has to be done. I don't have a big marketing team or a flashy website. It’s just me and my notebook, keeping track of what’s happening at the various locations I oversee. Sometimes I have to be strict with people, but they know it’s for their own good. My family has been in this area for a long time, and I’m just trying to contribute in my own small way. It’s a simple life, focused on getting home safe at the end of every day. I often spend my evenings just catching up on the news or talking to my neighbors about the crops.
