Sun Shine Academy

You will find Sun Shine Academy on Chapra Road in Siwan. It is a busy part of town with a lot of traffic passing by all the time. Our school has been part of this community for a good number of years. It’s a standard building with several classrooms and a small office near the entrance. Every morning, the gate opens and the kids come in. Some come by rickshaw and others walk from the nearby lanes. Inside, it's usually quite lively. The teachers are busy with their lesson plans and making sure the students stay focused. We have a small library, though it's mostly just shelves of old books that the kids borrow now and then. The playground is just a patch of ground where they play cricket or tag during their free periods. It gets quite dusty in the dry season. We don't have fancy computer labs with the latest stuff, but we have a few machines that the older students use. Most of our day is spent following the timetable. When it rains, the sound on the roof is so loud we have to shout a bit to be heard. It's just a local school where we know most of the families by name. We don't do anything flashy. We just open the doors, teach the kids, and close up in the evening. It’s a practical place for learning without any unnecessary fuss. We try to keep the fees low so everyone can come here. This keeps the classrooms full and the hallways noisy.
