Rajiv Agro Foods Private Limited is over in the village of Kot Banjariya. We are in Ward Number 6 of the Sonkha panchayat. Gopal Das is the one who handles the main bits of the business. We are out in the Tola Kot area where things are pretty quiet most of the time. Our work is all about food and agriculture, which is what everyone around here knows best. We don't have any fancy degrees or big business plans. We just know that people need to eat and the crops need to be handled right. Most days start early before the sun is even fully up. We check on the supplies and see what the farmers are bringing in. It is a lot of back-and-forth communication and making sure the transport is ready. The village life means we know all our suppliers by their first names. We don't use any polished language because that’s not how we talk to each other. We just say it like it is. If the crop is bad, we say it’s bad. If the price is low, we deal with it. It’s a practical way of living and working. We just want to keep the local economy moving a bit and make sure the food gets from the field to the plate without too many problems. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know how to do. It's not fancy, but it gets the job done and keeps us out of trouble.
