In Siwan

In Siwan is where we operate, specifically out of Ramapali. Peer Md and the rest of us stay busy at this location near the Chakra post office. Being in a place like Siwan in Bihar means things move at a different pace than the big cities. We know everyone around here, and everyone knows Mainuddin Ansari's family. The office is really just a part of the local life. We handle our daily tasks without much fuss. The dust from the road comes in through the door sometimes, but that’s just how it is here. We don't have fancy office chairs; we mostly use what’s available. It’s a practical space. We spend our time making sure everything is recorded correctly and the paperwork is handled. It gets very quiet in the evenings when the sun goes down. We usually wrap up around then and head home. There aren't many distractions out here, which is good for getting things finished. Sometimes neighbors stop by just to say hello or sit for a minute. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. If someone walks in, whoever is closest to the door helps them. It is a very direct way of doing things. We are just local people working in our own community, trying to stay on top of our responsibilities day by day. It’s not complicated, but it is our life.
