Veeyar Minerals (P.) Ltd.

We are based at Anugraha 7 on 4th Street in T.N.G.O. Colony, Nangamallur. Veeyar Minerals (P.) Ltd. is a small operation, even if the name sounds a bit more formal. Our office is tucked into a residential street, so it’s fairly quiet except for the occasional delivery truck trying to navigate the narrow turns. We deal with minerals and industrial supplies, so there’s always a lot of technical talk and paperwork going on. The desks are covered in spreadsheets and samples of different ores and powders. It can get a bit dusty if we aren't careful with the containers. We spend most of our time on the phone with sites or looking at logistics. It’s not a very glamorous job, but it’s what we know. The Chennai heat is pretty brutal in this part of town, so the ceiling fans are always on full blast. We have a small kitchen area where we make tea and keep our lunch boxes. Usually, we eat together and talk about anything other than work for half an hour. The building itself is an older one, so the plumbing is a bit temperamental and the stairs creak. We’ve thought about moving to a bigger place, but we’re used to this spot in Nangamallur. It feels like home now. We just keep our heads down and make sure the shipments are moving as they should. There is not much more to it than that, honestly.
