Our office is over in Civil Lines, on Power House Road. It’s a sturdy building, though the paint is starting to peel in a few places. At Bokhara Palace Pvt. Ltd., we spend most of our time surrounded by piles of rugs and textiles. The smell of wool is something you just get used to after a day or two. We don't have a big showroom with bright lights and mirrors. Most of our stock is kept in the back under some ceiling fans. The road outside can get pretty busy with trucks and bikes, especially near the power house. We usually start early in the morning before it gets too hot to move around. Our desks are covered in order forms and sketches for new designs. We have a few guys who handle the heavy lifting, moving the big rolls around the floor. It’s physical work and your hands get rough. We don't really have a formal dress code here. You'll usually find us in simple clothes that don't mind a bit of dust. We’ve been at this location for a long time. People know where to find us if they need something. We don't send out many emails or do fancy advertisements. Usually, it's just people calling us or stopping by because they heard about us from someone else. It's a steady rhythm of work that doesn't change much from year to year. It’s a bit old-fashioned, but it works for us.
