Goyal Meenakshi Architect

Goyal Meenakshi Architect operates out of the Azad Architects space on Katcha College Road. We are right opposite Street Number 10, so it’s easy to spot if you’re coming down that way. The office is a bit crowded with old files and physical models that have seen better days. I’ve spent many years sitting at this same desk, looking out at the street while I try to figure out a floor plan. It’s a bit of a dusty environment because of the roadwork nearby, but that’s life in this part of town. I don’t have a big team or a fancy marketing department. Usually, it’s just me and maybe one assistant trying to keep up with the drawings. We deal with a lot of local building codes and permissions, which takes up more time than the actual designing sometimes. People walk in with an idea on a piece of scrap paper, and we try to turn it into something real. There’s always a pile of blueprints waiting to be checked. Katcha College Road is a lively place, and I like the energy here even if it gets a bit noisy during the day. I prefer using a pencil for my first drafts before moving to the computer. It feels more natural that way. We don't do anything too complicated, just honest architecture for people who need a solid place to stay or work. It’s a slow process but we get there eventually. We often have to drink a lot of chai to stay sharp.
