B.S. Rice Mills

B.S. Rice Mills is located in Village Majhi, right along the Nabha Road in the Sangrur district. Being out in the village means we have a bit more space, but it also means we are right in the middle of the farming action. The mill stays pretty busy during the months when the rice comes in from the surrounding fields. You can hear the hum of the machinery from quite a distance away when everything is in full swing. We have a yard where the trucks pull in to offload, and sometimes it gets quite cramped with all the bags waiting to be processed. The Nabha Road stays busy with people traveling between the towns, so we see a lot of movement throughout the day. It’s a straightforward operation here, nothing too complicated about how we run things. We just focus on the task at hand, which is usually related to sorting, drying, or husking the grain. The air around the mill always has that specific scent of toasted rice and dry husks. Our workers are mostly local people from the village or nearby areas who know the work well. We don't spend much time on decorations or making the place look polished because that isn't what a rice mill is about. It’s a place for work, and that is exactly what we do from morning until evening. Most of our day is spent dealing with the logistics of getting the rice in and out of the gates.
