Bala Ji Rice Mill

You can find Bala Ji Rice Mill over in Village Khadiyal. We are situated on Khadial Road within the Sangrur district, specifically around the Shapur Kalan Ajit Nagar area. It is a fairly rural spot, so there is plenty of room for the trucks to park and turn around. The mill building is a big shed where we do all the processing. It gets quite warm inside when all the motors are running at the same time. We have a small crew of workers who live nearby, so everyone knows each other. We spend our days hauling bags and checking the quality of what comes through. The floor is concrete and always has a thin layer of dust on it no matter how many times we sweep it up. We have a small water cooler in the corner that gets a lot of use during the summer months. Around the mill, you can see other small shops and houses that make up this part of Sangrur. It is a straightforward business without any bells and whistles. We keep the machines greased and the bags stacked high. Sometimes the weather makes the work slow down, especially when the humidity is high and the grain gets damp. We just deal with whatever the day brings us. It is a basic way of life here on Khadial Road, and we are just one part of the community doing our daily bit.
