Ambey Rice Mill

Down here on Tajoke Road in Tapa Mandi, you will find Ambey Rice Mill. We have been operating out of this facility for quite a while now. Tapa Mandi is a very busy area for grain, so there is always something going on around here. We deal with the local farmers mostly. The mill itself has seen better days, maybe, but it still runs strong and gets the rice out like it is supposed to. We spend our mornings checking the moisture levels and getting the day’s schedule sorted out. It is a lot of physical labor, moving the sacks and keeping the hoppers full. We are not much for big talk or long business meetings. We would rather just be working. The noise from the hullers is something you just learn to ignore after a few weeks on the job. During the peak season, the whole of Tajoke Road is lined with trailers and tractors. It can be a bit of a mess, but we manage to get everyone through eventually. We have got a small crew, and we all pitch in wherever it is needed. If a machine gets jammed, we all stop and fix it together. It is a simple life, focused on the seasons and the harvest. We do not have any big corporate goals or flashy brochures. We just want to make sure the rice is processed well and the farmers are happy with what they get back from us. It is honest work.
