Aggarwal Rice & Gen. Mills

We are located right on Jakhan Road in Sunam, which is in the Sangrur district. If you know the area, you know it gets quite busy around harvest time. Our mill has been sitting here for a long time, and we have seen the seasons change many times. The work starts early in the morning when the sun is just coming up. There is always a layer of dust on the windows from the rice being processed, but that is just part of the job. We don’t have any fancy office or anything like that. It is just the mill, the machines, and the space where we store the bags. Some days the tractors are lined up all the way down the road waiting to get in. It can be a bit chaotic when that happens. We try to keep the machinery running smooth, but old parts sometimes give us trouble. You can hear the hum of the motors from the street. The workers here have been with us for years, and they know the routine better than anyone. It’s not an easy life, especially when it’s forty degrees outside in the summer. We drink a lot of water and just keep going. People in Sunam know us as a place that just does its work without making a big fuss. We spend most of our time making sure the rice is moving through the mill correctly. It is a noisy, busy place most of the year. We just keep our heads down and do the milling.
