Veda Foods

Out here in the MIDC area of Islampur, you’ll find Veda Foods at Plot No. E-37. This part of Taluka Walwa in the Sangli district is mostly industrial, so there are always trucks moving and machines humming in the background. Our place is no different. We spend the day in the unit making sure the production is running like it should. It’s a lot of watching the machines and checking the bags. We have a small group of workers who have been with us for a bit, and we all just pitch in where it's needed. It isn't a glamorous job, but it’s what keeps the lights on. The weather out here in Sangli can be quite dry, so the fans are always going in the workshop. We don't have a big corporate office with air conditioning. We just have our workspace and a small area for the paperwork. Most of our day is spent dealing with the actual food processing and making sure the supplies are coming in from the local farms or dealers. We are a bit far from the main city, but being in the MIDC gives us the space we need to operate. It’s a quiet life in some ways, just focusing on the work and getting the orders ready for the trucks to pick up and take to the markets.
